Transition from year 9 and above

All pupils in Year 9 and above have a Transition Plan based on aspirations for their future. Pupils in Year 11 and older may have the opportunity to visit the local Newtown College NPTC to take part in taster sessions such as Agriculture and Catering. They take part in courses with college tutors and are supported by our school staff. Pupils benefit from visiting the college, enjoy the different courses they may try and enjoy the social interaction when they visit the refectory at break time.

The PCP – Person Centred Planning review (Annual Review) in their  final  year is completed early in the autumn term, allowing  as much time as is possible to  put plans in place for the transition from school.

The school works closely with parents, Kim Parker (Careers Wales) the future provision and partner agencies towards a smooth transition. During the summer term, the transition process is increased and opportunities to visit the new provision are created (where possible)
