My name is Jayne Hill, I was appointed Family Support Co-ordinator at Ysgol Cedewain School in April 2018, after the Head Teacher and Governors identified the need to offer support to the families of Ysgol Cedewain. As Family Support Co-ordinator and PCP Annual Review Facilitator I aim to support parents/carers of children at Cedewain School.
Should you have a personal concern or school related issue, then I am here to offer support. I have access to a number of agencies who may be able to provide assistance to you and your family. I work to encourage parental involvement within school, signpost to agencies (where appropriate) and support children in school.
Any query, large or small, I am here to help
I liaise with all school staff where necessary and appropriate, and always in the best interests of the children and their families. I work impartially and confidentially in a non-judgemental manner, providing an understanding ‘listening ear’ if you ever need advice or support.
My role is varied; I can provide support, information and education service to parents and investigate concerns raised by parents, pupils and teachers as agreed by the Head Teacher.
My primary role is to facilitate our PCP Annual Review (Person Centred Planning) meetings and to focus on early intervention and preventative activities with the view of empowering the children so they are able to achieve to the best of their ability. I act in the best interests of the child, but will also support the family with meeting the requirements of the set PCP plan.
I am a contact for parents and families who have difficulties. These include issues around attendance, health, social services, early years, counselling, Literacy, Numeracy and ELSA intervention etc.
I support pupil with early intervention supporting Literacy and Numeracy two days a week on a 1:1 or small group basis, this will be identified though out assessments which are carried out during the academic year
I work closely with our three ELSA’s who are based in school, I identify new referrals through our PCP meetings, we meet weekly to discuss and review referrals
I aim to be on the playground or in the office before and after school, should you need to speak to me.

As a mother myself, I never forget how precious time is with family and it is my aim to build strong relationships with you so every child is happy, thriving and fulfilling their potential in school and at home.
