Ysgol Cedewain is situated in Newtown, Powys amidst stunning countryside where pupils are able to enjoy and engage in a variety of outdoor educational activities including Forest School, sports and leisure activities.
The school has a highly skilled, motivated and committed staff team who create excellent working relationships with pupils and their families to ensure consistent approaches to learning. The school utilizes a range of specialist approaches and has specialist equipment to promote pupils learning. The staff also work closely with a multi disciplinary team of professionals to ensure that the very best care and education is provided for each and every individual.
The curriculum incorporates the Foundation Phase, National Curriculum (modified and adapted to meet the needs of and to challenge our learners according to their very individual needs) and a vocational, modular curriculum approach for older teenagers. All pupils leave the school with externally recognized qualifications.
The school curriculum is also complemented by a range of therapies and outdoor educational and sports activities.
Welsh is taught throughout school though English is the main language in use. Staff and pupils are encouraged to use and celebrate the Welsh language and culture at every opportunity.
At Ysgol Cedewain we foster an atmosphere where it is important to celebrate pupil achievement no matter how small the steps of progress being made. There is a very respectful, supportive and happy ethos within the school and a warm welcome for visitors.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
